Summerdaze 2022 - 34th Season
Dearest Benefactors, Parents, Guardians, Campers and Friends of SummerDaze
On behalf of the staff and St Benedict Parish community, we would like to express our heartfelt THANK YOU for your unceasing love and support for SummerDaze Day Camp. This season, like all others, met its own unique set of challenges, coupled with lingering covid19 mandates, we invested all that we had to ensure that our campers had a safe and wholesome summer camp experience all while ensuring the staff remained healthy, happy, holy and motivated. It is no doubt that SUMMERDAZE is the best camp in town and we are fervent to ensure it remains that way! We, as a community of faith and Salesian family are making St. John Bosco's dream a reality... through faith-filled fun and focused to work on our relationship with Jesus, we are raising Good Christians and Upright Citizens.
To all our benefactors, donors and community supports - your support helps to further the mission of the Salesians and St Benedict Parish and truly it is a gift that keeps on giving. When you see how our campers are formed in the faith, who one day become the volunteers, then move on to be counsellors and eventually administrators OR simply taking what they have learned from SummerDaze into their professions or career paths, it is because YOU made it possible for them to have such an amazing experience. 34 seasons of camp calls to mind the numerous young people who have come through the camper doors at St Benedict, touched by the Salesian spirit and continue to shine their light in the world. You remain in our prayers with grateful hearts. Thank You.

Hello Campers and SummerDaze Family,
It's Smiley here! I hope you are well, and healthy and had an amazing Holiday and Christmas Break.
As much as I am excited about ringing in the New Year, I am particularly loud at cheering and unapologetically hyper because January means - WINTERDAZE! It has been so long since we were all together in our yellow shirts, sitting in our lines at Bennies and playing all the games!
We miss you and can not wait to see you!
For those who are new this past season, WinterDaze is a ONE-day camp reunion for all the campers of the 2022 season. We mimic a day of camp, with snacks, and activities and ending with the 5pm vigil mass. WinterDaze kicks off the celebrations for St. John Bosco's (patron saint of youth, young people, educators, magicians!) feast day which is celebrated at the end of January. WinterDaze is a rally of youth who were touched by the charism of the Salesians at St Benedict Parish as they emulated the educational model of running activities and creating connections with faith just like how St. John Bosco would.
We are inviting ALL of our campers from 2022 Season to our WinterDaze Camp Reunion taking place on
Saturday January 28th, 2023
Camper Doors open at 12:30pm
Day begins at 1pm
Family Mass at 5pm (church)
Dismissal at 6:30pm (from hall).
RSVP is required for WinterDaze!!! (online registration found below)
We will have lots of activities throughout the day, primarily outdoors, so please make sure your camper dresses warmly.
Campers will be given the option to go ice skating during the day. We will be walking to a local rink and will skate for about an hour, so if your camper would like to go skating please pack their skates, helmet and any other necessary gear.
For campers who do not want to skate, there will be lots of activities back at the church.
Campers should eat lunch before they arrive as there is no lunch break, but we will have a small snack later in the afternoon.
We will celebrate mass together with the parish at 5:00 pm (which you are welcome to attend)
and campers can be picked up in the hall after mass (about 6:30 pm).
Lastly, we are taking RSVPs until January 23rd!
If this survey is no longer available as it is after the 23rd,
please call the youth office to RSVP - 416-743-3830 ext 6.
